Education Committee
Meets 4 times throughout the academic year
Programs: Student Chamber, Randy Basurto Educational Scholarship Fund in memory of Randy Basurto, Student Sacramento Trip
Whittier Beautiful Committee
Meets bi-monthly, Thursdays at 12 noon
Objectives: Whittier Beautification Awards, Bi-Annual Bus Tour of Whittier, receive reports on beautification & development projects around Whittier
Apartment Owners Association
Meets quarterly at 7pm
Objective: provide educational workshops for apartment owners and managers of rentals properties
Silver Shield
Meets 3-4 months prior to event which is a banquet & program to honor the Whittier Police Department
Ambassadors
Meets the fourth Wednesday of each month, 8:30am
Objective: greet & support hosts at Mixers, Wake Up Whittiers, Ribbon Cuttings and Special Events; help new members get acquainted with Chamber; support staff with membership retention program; be "face of Chamber." New members of this committee must meet minimum criteria before joining. Please inquire with Chamber staff or Committee chairs.
Seminars
On call; Objectives: assist staff with the selection and promotion of educational seminars & workshops for Chamber members
Technology
On call. Objectives: assist the Chamber with making technological decisions in the areas of Internet, computer communications and other technology-related areas.
Legislative Affairs
Meetings are quarterly featuring guest speakers
Objectives: study and educate the membership on pending legislation which could have a positive or negative impact on business.
Business Advisory Committee
Provide a forum for members to share business related concerns which the Chamber may (or may not) be able to advise the member on a direction to take.
Hathaway Golf Tournament
Meets 3-4 months prior to event
Objectives: coordinate all aspects of this tournament (usually in September)., the Chamber's largest fundraiser event.
Bowling Tournament
Meets 3-4 months prior to fall event
Objectives: coordinate all aspects of this FUNdraiser tournament.
Business Expo
Meets 4-5 months prior to event, (usually in February)
Objectives: coordinate all aspects of the Business Expo & Mixer which usually has 80-100 businesses participating and more than 500 guests in attendance.
