Whittier City Parks

Whittier is dedicated to  preserving its natural  hills and is proud to have over 20% of our 14.8 square miles available to our residents as permanent open space. Recreational opportunities abound as a result of the City’s vision in this area. The Greenway Rails-to-Trails project, which will convert  5 miles of abandoned railroad  into a unique walking and biking path is well underway and a  new 13,000 sq. ft. Senior and Community Center recently opened at Parnell Park . Altogether, Whittier  provides over 400 acres of land for recreational use. For additional information on Whittier Parks, please contact the Whittier City Parks & Recreation Dept., www.whittierch.org
